The situation became clear on Thursday evening when a new mayor of the city of Pregarten was elected to the local council: 19 councilors voted for the ÖVP VBgm candidate. Fritz Robeischl. Alexander Skrzipek, who defended the SPÖ, received 10 votes. This corresponds essentially to the majority distribution in the municipal council (VP 17, SP 9, FP 3 – two of which are not occupied, Green 2). Robeischl succeeds Anton Scheuwimmer (VP), who has been in charge of the city for the past 29 years. Immediately after the elections, 40-year-old district chief Andrea Ausserweger was sworn in in his new position. Werner Philipp will assume his previous position as deputy mayor.

He left his last job at RISC Software GmbH in Hagenberg to be able to work full time as mayor of Pregarten. As someone who likes to be among people, the current situation hurts especially, so Robeischl: “This is not an easy time. Corona presents us with great challenges. At this time, therefore, cooperation and solidarity are the only correct way forward. “
