Barbara Haas is off to a turbulent start at the French Open. Upper Austria prevails in the first qualifying round against Ukraine’s Daria Snigur in three sets with 6: 0, 5: 7, 7: 5.

Haas starts furiously against number 219 in the WTA standings and wins the first set 6-0. In the second set, the 24-year-old is already leading 5-0 before the thread is completely broken. She awards a match point and is no longer playing, the set is still lost 5-7.

The deciding set is contested, Haas awarding two match points with a score of 5: 4 and granting the break at 5: 5. In the end, the number 142 in the world still prevails after just over two hours.
