A local freerider fell into a very narrow 40-meter deep crevasse in the Kitzsteinhorn ski area on Sunday afternoon. The companions had alerted the rescuers. 15 mountain rescuers and three alpine policemen were deployed, as well as two helicopters. The launch was not long enough to reach the man. Also, all the snow had to be removed. At 40 meters deep, mountain rescuers found only skis and goggles, but no people. On Sunday night, the mission had to be canceled due to darkness. The search continues Monday morning.
