The police reported that an employee had resold 300,000 liters of diesel. The investigation dates back to April 2018.
According to the Lower Austrian state police department, a transport company in the Neunkirchen district reported in mid-April 2019 that one of its employees was suspected of using diesel fuel from a consortium in the construction of the Semmering-Selling base tunnels on your own without your knowledge. Subsequently, the investigations were assumed by the State Police of Criminal Police. They date back to April 2018.
According to the police, 300,000 liters of diesel are said to have been diverted. Furthermore, the consortium’s main employees were found to have ordered construction materials worth at least € 1.9 million in addition to large-scale fuel sales to the detriment of their employer. The accounting was done through the employer. The material was delivered to other construction sites and processed there. The defendants also founded their own companies through which they processed the orders.
According to the Lower Austrian state police department, all the ARGE employees involved were fired by the Swiss parent company after the incident became known. They are partially confessed to the processes. According to the Leoben prosecution, eight suspects are being investigated for fraud and breach of trust.
