Bolzano: Third consecutive away game for HCB Südtirol Alperia, who played today at the TIWAG Arena in the Tyrolean Derby against HC Innsbruck.

After a lightning start by Weißroten with two hits in the first two minutes, there was a spirited goal. After the first stage, the Foxes entered the locker room with a three goal lead and always found the correct answer to the two goals from the hosts. In the remaining two-thirds, the Foxes confidently rewound time and kept the opponent under control without major problems. In between, the Ireland coach also granted the two young Gios and Pitschieler an ice age. Weißroten are now the only leaders in the table with a three-point advantage over their pursuer Vienna, who played two games less.

The match. Coach Greg Ireland was able to turn to Dan Catenacci, Justin Fazio replaced Irving in goal. Initial third of the open doors: after the first twenty minutes, seven goals had already been scored. At 17 seconds the doorbell rang in the Tyrolean area: Misunderstanding in the Innsbruck defense, Bernard passed the puck to the independent Miceli in the slot, who transformed the ice cream. Two minutes later it was 2-0: Findlay rounded the home’s goal and served Gazley who lurked in the far corner with pinpoint precision, who scored with a volley. Innsbruck responded for the first time with Girard, who took advantage of a Foxes error in the preparation of the game and nailed the puck in the far corner. Then it was Bolzano’s turn again: Robertson’s long-range shot and Captain Bernard hit the second rebound. Less than two minutes later, the bell rang again on the opposite side: a few seconds after the start of a power play, Lattner was free to shoot and Fazio had to get behind him a second time. The Foxes immediately had the answer: In the same minute Findlay increased to 4: 2, was cleared by a wonderful pass from Gazley in front of McCullum, who misled the goalkeeper and pushed. The same player met again three minutes later: this time it was Frigo who played him in the slot, Findlay only had to hold the bat.

After the clear lead in the first third, the Foxes picked up some pace and protected the neutral zone, but not without giving up on attacks. Findlay put the puck on a Gazley Volley pass to the side of the box and Fournier used Swette, who was substituted during the third break, with a shot from the blue line. Luckily for Bolzano, when Gerlach did not get the goal into the already beaten Fazio, on the other side Insam played for Miceli, the Innsbruck goalkeeper fought back. Nine seconds before the second tea break, the puck lands in a confusing situation in the white and red casing, the referees immediately used the video evidence: after a long study, the hit was not recognized.

Innsbruck couldn’t find a recipe in the final third to get into trouble for the league leaders, who controlled the sovereign game. After a Bardaro chance early on, Sideroff instead couldn’t use Fazio’s uncertainty and a shot from good position by Ciampini went over Bolzano’s goal. Findlay had the opportunity to score his third goal of the night twice on a rebound for Weißroten. For the chronicle, Ciampini hit the post in the last minute.

Bernard & Co. has two home games against Linz (Friday) and Vienna (Saturday) this weekend.
