Two surfers were recovered dead from the North Sea on Tuesday morning, police in The Hague said. Two bodies had already been recovered on Monday night. Another surfer was still missing, as rescuers said. Wanted with boats and helicopters.
A group of surfers was in need Monday night on the Scheveningen coast, near The Hague, with strong winds and strong currents. According to the coast guard, at least seven were unable to reach the beach on their own and were rescued by rescuers from the North Sea. Aid came too late for two of them. A third person had been hospitalized.
The search for the disappeared stopped at around 11 p.m. On Tuesday at 6:00 a.m., rescuers resumed the search.
