Vehicles explode after recovery.

In a head-on collision on Saturday in Atzelsdorf, a cadastral community in Gaweinstal (Mistelbach district), five people were injured, four of them life-threatening. During a turning maneuver at the intersection of a state and municipal highway, the two cars collided, according to the Red Cross, and after the injuries were recovered, both vehicles exploded.
There was a family of four in one car and a 62-year-old man in the other. As a Red Cross spokesman said, an ambulance went through the scene of the accident and provided first aid along with passers-by. After the injuries were recovered from the vehicle wreckage, explosions occurred in both cars. The vehicles caught fire.
Injuries involved in life-threatening injuries.
According to ÖAMTC, the 19-year-old driver was taken to Mistelbach State Hospital with minor injuries, his 19-year-old sister with serious injuries was transported to Vienna General Hospital with the emergency helicopter “Christophorus 9”. The helicopter “Martin 5” took the father and mother of the two 19-year-olds to the Krems University Hospital, the 62-year-old driver of the other car was transferred to Wiener Neustadt State Hospital with the “Christophorus 3”. The Red Cross called everyone’s serious injuries “fatal.”
