In the last 24 hours, 16,631 PCR test results were reported, 7.6 percent of them positive, a relatively low value, as always on weekends. This also explains the relatively small number of new infections. The seven-day average for recorded test results was 19,746, that for new infections was 1,865. The seven-day average positive rate was 9.4.
Most of the new infections were in Vienna with 281. Lower Austria followed with 266. Then came Salzburg with 168, Upper Austria with 152 and Styria with 133. Four countries were in double digits: Carinthia with 97, Tyrol with 84 , Vorarlberg with 55 and Burgenland with 31 new infections.
