A forest fire was reported on Langener Strasse in Bregenz around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday night. The notified fire brigades Bregenz City and Bregenz Fluh immediately started the fire attack. According to the fire department, the fire was about 30 meters in a forest and could have been caused by a discarded cigarette. “Due to the current drought, a fire can be easily started by throwing a cigarette,” says the official police report, which also talks of a “conflagration.”

Forest of 100 m2 affected

Approximately 100 square meters of forest were affected by the fire. The fire departments finally extinguished the fire at 05:18 a.m.

A total of 30 people participated in the operation, including two paramedics and six police officers.

The Bregenz City and Bregenz Fluh fire brigades were on site with a total of three emergency vehicles, and the police had also moved in with three vehicles.
