Andrea Heimberger, who was born in Braunau, headed the communications department of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor for eight years. Since 2015 she has been deputy director of the interest group.
At the end of the year she was promoted to director, succeeding Josef Moser, who, like his deputy Franz Molterer, is retiring (see report below). Heimberger is the first woman to assume this position in Upper Austria. Its central objective: “to anchor the AK even more firmly as a key actor in politics.”
Heimberger’s deputies are Gerda Landsiedl, Head of the Finance Department, and Ernst Stummer, Head of Legal Protection.
Heimberger’s professional roots lie in the union, which she was already involved in as a teenager. She ran the youth center of the youth union in Braunau and was later brought to Linz as union secretary of the GPA.
AK President Johann Kalliauer praises his new director: “She represents a lot of knowledge, courage and personal commitment. Even as head of communications, she has shown foresight and innovation.”
