One week after the US presidential election, the vote counting continues in many states. When the results were updated on Tuesday, there were minor changes to the previously predictable majority. Overall, Democratic candidate Joe Biden has been chosen as the winner of the election, with 279 votes for the December election meeting. 270 of these voters are sufficient for the majority.

The following is an overview of provisional status in those US states that have not yet made a decision or are particularly controversial:

Georgia

The state in the southeast has 16 votes for the electoral assembly. Biden led with a good 12,400 votes Tuesday. If you count about 99 percent of the votes, this means 49.5 percent for Biden and 49.2 percent for incumbent Donald Trump. Given the very close result, the government of this US state has already announced that the votes will be counted again.

North Carolina

The East Coast state sends 15 voters. Here Trump led with nearly 75,000 votes. After counting about 98 percent of the votes, he had a 50.0 percent turnout. Biden had 48.7 percent.

Arizona

There are eleven voters in the southwestern state of the United States. Biden’s clear lead at the start of the count has dropped to 14,746 votes. In this count of about 98 percent, Biden had a 49.4 percent stake, ahead of Trump with 49.0 percent. The AP news agency and Fox television station had already announced a decision in favor of Biden in Arizona on election night, but other outlets were reluctant.

Nevada

In the state with the entertainment metropolis Las Vegas, six votes will be cast, which according to US media reports, Biden gets. With a tally of about 97 percent, Biden had a more than 36,000 vote lead and a 50.2 percent turnout. Trump accounted for 47.5 percent.

Alaska

In the sparsely populated state of the far northwestern United States, three votes are available for the electoral assembly. With about 52 percent of the votes counted, Trump had a clear advantage of about 54,600 votes. In this intermediate result, 62.2 percent went to the incumbent and 33.6 percent went to Biden.
