Because too many teachers are infected with the corona virus, a school in Upper Austria had to close for the first time.
Ten of the total 25 teachers, as well as eight of the 235 students from the secondary school (formerly NMS) and the connected polytechnic course in Großraming (Steyr-Land district) tested positive for Covid-19, reports the OÖN.
And because the school can no longer be held properly, the emergency brake has now been set. The whole school turned into homeschooling. But only until all tests have been completed and you know how many people in the school are infected in total. Because they have all been tested.
All teachers and children are evaluated
“Due to the current infection situation, the health authorities decided to test all students and teachers. Therefore, the classes in this place have been switched to distance learning until the results are received,” says the director of Alfred Klampfer education at OÖN.
Currently (Tuesday 8 am), according to the state of Upper Austria, 1,293 people in Upper Austria are infected with the virus. The number of people who need to be treated in the hospital has increased. 69 patients are treated in hospitals, seven of them in intensive care units.
