Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen left Vienna General Hospital on Thursday afternoon. After a fall on Saturday at his second official residence, Mürzsteg, he went to the hospital for clarification. There, doctors diagnosed a painful pelvic injury and performed pain therapy.
AUSTRIA. Van der Bellen thanked “very warmly for the excellent medical care at AKH. This has contributed significantly to the positive healing process,” the APA presidential office announced.
Fortunately, no surgery was necessary. The federal president will continue to heal at home in the coming days. For the time being, you will continue the official business you last conducted from the hospital at your home office.
Van der Bellen visited the injured police officer
Before leaving the hospital, the federal president visited the police officer who was shot in the terrorist attack and is now recovering. Both were treated in the same room at the General Hospital. Van der Bellen spoke to the police officer about the operation on the night of terror.
