The sharp increase in the need for evidence was also a reason for the armed forces to increase the number of their aides. According to a transmission from the Ministry of Defense, 350 more soldiers were commissioned. 150 forces are now reinforcing the test roads in Styria; Another 200 auxiliary soldiers support in Lower Austria to face the Covid pandemic. The civil authorities concerned requested assistance from the armed forces.

2,800 soldiers deployed nationwide
The 200 assisting soldiers in Lower Austria will initially be deployed until February 19, 2021. They are supposed to support permanent trials in 20 district capitals and in the cities with their own status St. Pölten, Wiener Neustadt, Krems and Waidhofen an der Ybbs.
A total of around 2,800 soldiers are currently deployed nationwide. Around 700 of them support massive Covid tests in Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Styria, Carinthia and Burgenland. More than 600 soldiers guard the state border and almost 1,000 soldiers are deployed abroad.
