For the third time in a row, FC Red Bull Salzburg can celebrate the title of “Team of the Year”. This makes the Salzburg Bulls the first team to achieve this feat in the election by the Austrian Association of Sports Journalists. “This award is very special for us and shows that we are on the path we have taken years ago. It means a lot to the whole team. Thank you, “says Andreas Ulmer, FC Red Bull Salzburg captain.
For three years now, FC Red Bull Salzburg has dominated the team of the year. After 2018 and 2019, national sports journalists again voted the double winner and the UEFA Champions League holder in first place. Mozart City People scored 811 points (85 times 1st place). A team from the national Bundesliga also came in second place. LASK achieved 395 points (18 times the first places) and relegated the Moto-GP KTM team (374 points / 31 times the first place) to third place. Behind them is the successful men’s national team of the Austrian Handball Federation in fourth place (357 points / 24 times 1st place) ahead of the sailing duo Benjamin Bildstein / David Hussl (265 points / 14 times 1st place).
