Fake Queen complains about Harry and Meghan on video

British broadcaster Channel 4 lets the Queen complain about Harry and Meghan’s departure in a fake satirical video at Christmas.

“There are few things more painful than when someone tells you that they prefer the company of Canadians,” says Queen Elizabeth II, animated and bent with so-called deepfake technology, in a Twitter video on Channel 4.

The queen’s grandson, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan had separated from the British royal family and were temporarily living in Canada. They now live in California with their son Archie. The full alternative Christmas message, with which the broadcaster claims to draw attention to the dangers of fake content, should air on Christmas Day.

There have been some complaints with Ofcom regulators, according to a Channel 4 report. According to the Telegraph, actual author Penny Junor was angered by the monarch’s parody. Only a few things are sacred today, but this is going too far.
