(Motorsport-Total.com) – Max Verstappen won the final of the 2020 Formula 1 season in Abu Dhabi. The Red Bull driver missed nothing in the final race of the year and celebrated a sure victory from start to finish. It was the second hit of the season for the Dutchman after Silverstone.

However, it was not enough for the runner-up, as competitor Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) finished second behind Verstappen and thus secured second place in the overall standings. World champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) came third, ahead of Alexander Albon’s second Red Bull.
In the battle for third place among the constructors, McLaren Racing Point was able to intercept. Lando Norris (5th) and Carlos Sainz (6th) secured enough points for their team and benefited from the bad luck of Sergio Pérez, who started early in the race due to a technical defect. Lance Stroll couldn’t save his team’s place in the World Cup with 10th place.
Renault remains fifth among the constructors, even if they scored double points with Daniel Ricciardo in seventh and Esteban Ocon in ninth. Pierre Gasly got eighth place, a good result for AlphaTauri.
Sebastian Vettel, who was 14th directly behind teammate Charles Leclerc, ran out of points when he left Ferrari.
