On Monday night there was an animal rescue operation in Vienna-Liesing. There someone had put a hangover in a sealed shipping box at a post office branch.
The TierQuarTier Vienna described the recent case of an abandoned animal in the federal capital as “unbelievable” in a broadcast on Wednesday. During the night from Sunday to Monday, the animal rescue service of the city of Vienna was called to the 23rd district of Vienna. The reason: behind a mountain of packages a sealed transport box had been found: a frightened black and white cat was crouching in it.

Next to the checkout was an empty shopping cart; the unwanted four-legged friend was probably transported to the branch so as not to cause a stir. The animal rescue team immediately supplied the animal with food and water, which the hungry house tiger immediately devoured.
“I’m amazed how many people get rid of their animals and how they do it! A pet means responsibility and that throughout the animal’s life, people should finally be aware of that!” said Thomas Benda, TierQuarTier Vienna’s operations manager, dismayed.

The friendly cat of about eight years is now being examined and cared for at the TierQuarTier and, hopefully, it will soon be able to be placed in loving and, above all, responsible hands.
