At the Merkur Arena in Graz, the GAK 1902 and the SV Licht Loidl Lafnitz crossed the blades. Friday night’s game was also the main game of Hpybet’s 19 league second round and both teams did their best to live up to this superior game. In a fast-paced, high-class game, two substitutes decided the match: first David Schloffer scored for Lafnitz and in the last second Martin Harrer tied for the hosts. Both teams can be satisfied with the 1-1 draw: the result corresponds exactly to the course of the game.
The first half was even: both teams found good opportunities to score
The meeting proceeded at great speed from the beginning. The league leaders lobbied early on, a tactic the hosts had apparently not expected, it could be said that the GAK was initially having a hard time against the leaders. In minute 5 there was an uproar for the first time: Lafnitz’s guests demanded a penalty. Graz forward Petar Zubak hit the ball in his own penalty area with his hand, but referee Armin Untergasser did not whistle: Grazer’s arm was apparently too far from his body. In the 14th minute, Philipp Siegl of Lafnitz took off from about 17 meters. The ball got stuck and landed on Martin Krienzer. Suddenly, the 21-year-old appeared completely alone in front of goalkeeper Christoph Not. The Graz goalkeeper thwarted the early leadership of the Eastern Styrians with a beautiful parade. In the 33rd minute, the Red Jackets got their first chance in this game. Dominik Hackinger lowered the game controller perfectly after a measuring center, but did not get the ball into the guests’ goal from a few meters, as a defender could only deflect the shot to the corner. Just a minute later, Peter Tschernegg perked up and served from the second row; this shot was slightly deflected and thus came very close to the goal. Neither team scored after 45 minutes – the first half ended 0-0.
Veni – vidi – vici – Martin Harrer: the substitute striker tied in the last minute
After the restart in the second half, the game seemed a bit messy, because neither team could take command and both teams often turned the ball over in preparation for the game. The two opponents apparently didn’t want to take any either. unnecessary risk to avoid being left behind. In the 61st minute, Dominik Hackinger dribbled past Lafnitz’s defense and conceded to Slobodan Mihajlovic in the opponent’s penalty area. He missed his chance – Lafnitz only clarified unevenly – and somehow Petar Zubak got the ball. The Croatian did not hit the round leather well and pushed it over the crossbar. Now the red vests grew stronger and stronger and gradually assumed command in the field. Guest coach Phillip Semlic responded with a double change and brought in Patrick Bürger for Martin Krienzer and David Schloffer for Mario Kröpfl. An exchange that paid off: with his first touch of the ball in this game, David Schloffer scored a goal. After Philipp Siegl’s shot, the Lafnitz striker dusted off and sank the ball into the net. The hosts didn’t give up and did their best to match. Josef Weberbauer retired in the 92nd minute and Andreas Zingl saved his team’s lead with a brilliant save. Apparently the Reds had tasted blood now: Martin Harrer made it 1: 1 in the 94th minute and helped his team to a point.

Voices for the game:
Dieter Elsneg, GAK Sporting Director:
“The game was played with a lot of class. Lafnitz was stronger in the first half, but we kept it compact. In the second half we entered the game better. The team showed great morale today and earned the point.”
Phillip Semlic, Coach Lafnitz:
“We checked our opponents in the first round, we just missed the goal. In the second half, the GAK fit us better and then they got into the game better. In the end they threw everything forward and were rewarded with us with the Lucky Punch. Our performance today was very good despite the late goal! “
