The company promises its young target audience “the experience of a lifetime”, a unique experience. The private ski academy based in the federal state of Salzburg targets an international audience on its home page in English and offers training “with a job guarantee”.
For 5,880 euros you could still enroll online for a ski instructor course yesterday, which, according to the home page, will take place from January 24 to February 26 in the Kaprun / Zell am See ski area.
According to the Tyrolean Ski Instructors Association, those 17 people, including twelve Britons, who are suspected of having the British virus mutation in Jochberg, have completed their training as ski instructors at this private ski academy, reports Tiroler Tageszeitung (TT ).
The Tyrolean Ski Instructors Association has not conducted a ski instructor training or ski instructor training in Jochberg, says its managing director Christian Abenthung of the TT. About the private competition, he says: “They offer a preparation course, essentially a ski course, and then they take the next step towards training.” From the point of view of the association, such a preparatory course “is not necessary”, especially in times of confinement.
Dish: “Dispensable”
The Tyrolean authorities are now determining whether all requirements have been met. The Tyrolean Governor Günther Platter (VP) was not very satisfied with the stay of the majority of British citizens. “It is unnecessary that these so-called training courses are currently taking place,” Platter said.
The British arrived in stages from late October to December 18, most recently through Munich, and actually wanted to learn to ski better on Salzburg’s Kitzsteinhorn. In Jochberg they registered with their main residence in the staff house of a ski school. A total of around 40 people will be staying at Jochberg as part of this ski training, the Tyrolean daily reports. They were sentenced to idleness for almost two months. The English tabloid “The Sun” reports that they had parties all the time during this time. The mayor of Jochberg Günter Resch (FP) knows nothing about it, only one had to intervene.
The private ski academy, which in principle also offers training in France, Canada, Argentina and Switzerland, was not available yesterday for comment.
