The SPÖ, FPÖ and NEOS do not want to approve the amendment to the Law of Epidemic Measures and Covid on Tuesday, which could possibly also be the legal basis for the tests. However, it is still unclear among parliamentary groups whether Health Minister Rudolf Anschober cannot also prescribe tests on the basis of current law. In the Federal Council, the SPÖ, FPÖ and NEOS can postpone the entry into force of the amendment for eight weeks with a minimum majority. The three opposition parties announced their intention to do so at the request of the APA. For example, the NEOS are vehemently against new options to impose exit restrictions. According to information from the club, the SPÖ would have agreed if the so-called living room tests were also recognized as entry tests for trade. But after a corresponding request in the National Council has been rejected, the Reds watch the train leave.
If the Ministry of Health considers that the amendment is necessary for the tests of entry into retail trade or if it wants to initiate it on the basis of the current regulations on “entry and driving in commercial premises” (Paragraph 3 of the Covid-19 Law of Measures), initially it was not known to bring.
