“Austria-wide Showcase Project” – Corona employee rapid tests will be offered for the first time in Lower Austria from Thursday (October 1).
The state Chamber of Labor and Chamber of Commerce are implementing the pilot project. The kick-off will be in the Mödling district, Presidents Markus Wieser (AKNÖ) and Wolfgang Ecker (WKNÖ) announced in Wiener Neudorf on Monday. Five million euros are invested.
Create “security and predictability”
The presidents stressed that the cameras wanted to create “security and predictability for employees and businesses.” It’s an “Austrian-wide showcase project,” Wieser noted. The federal government is now being asked to take this initiative from the social partners of Lower Austria as soon as possible and offer it to employees and companies.
Ecker pointed to a win-win situation for everyone involved. Quick test results would make it clear that businesses could operate with as little interference as possible. In this context, the president of WKNÖ also called for Category I contacts to be able to end the quarantine after four days after two negative test results.
Pilot project: this is how rapid coronavirus tests are implemented
In the pilot project in the southern border district of Vienna, the Mödling Occupational and Social Medical Center (AMZ) is responsible for the operational implementation of the rapid tests. Registration is done by phone. In voluntary tests, employees receive a result in 15 minutes. If there is a suspected case, an additional PCR test is necessary for more detailed clarification.
