The crown crisis is about who gets prioritized in intensive care. This would also affect non-Covid-19 patients who need medical help for other reasons.
“We have an excellent and highly developed healthcare system in Austria and we are used to achieving the best possible results, for example with parameters such as mortality or complications,” emphasized Klaus Markstaller, president of the ÖGARI intensive care society in a transmission on Sunday. An uncontrolled spread of the coronavirus in the population threatens to rapidly overload the health system.
