Terrible accident at a campsite in Tuscany: a tree crashed into a family tent. Two sisters died (3, 14).
According to the “Corriere della Sera”, the Turin family actually wanted to leave on Saturday, but then extended it for another night. Early Sunday morning, a strong storm hit the Verde Mare square in Marina di Massa, 120 kilometers northwest of Florence.
Heavy rain, heavy storm. And then the catastrophe: around 7 am, a whirlwind formed. A four-and-a-half meter long poplar tree fell and fell on the girls’ heads.

The father, mother and brother, who were apparently sleeping on the other side of the tent, reported that they were awakened by a thud that shook the floor.
The 3-year-old boy died at the scene, the 14-year-old died a little later in the hospital.
According to the Ansa news agency, another sister (19) suffered minor injuries. The parents were unharmed.
“A vacation turned into a tragedy,” Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte tweeted. “The tragic death of the two sisters hurts us deeply.”
