On Sunday morning, a 39-year-old driver of a small truck got stuck in an ÖBB underpass in Dornbirn.
At around 9.45am, the 39-year-old was driving a small truck on the Bildgasse in Dornbirn in the direction of Schlachthausgasse. In doing so, it was unlikely that she would have taken into account the information on the height of the ÖBB underpass (max. 2.90 m). The van got stuck in the railroad underpass.
The woman tried to get the vehicle out of the underpass by driving back and forth, but was unsuccessful. The Dornbirn volunteer fire department pulled the small truck out of the underpass with a cable winch. The driver was unhurt.
Slight abrasion damage to the roof.
The body of the truck was seriously damaged. There was slight abrasive damage to the roof of the underpass, which was assessed by an ÖBB technician. During the rescue work, a police patrol from the city of Dornbirn closed the Bildgasse to traffic. ÖBB rail traffic had to be blocked for about an hour. The fire brigade of the ÖBB company and the federal police were also in action.
