A comment on the hygiene measures adopted by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who suffers from Covid-19, fuels concerns about the health of his employees. Trump’s economic adviser Larry Kudlow declined to go to an interview about whether the U.S. president wore a mask in the Oval Office.

Following his discharge from Walter Reed Hospital Monday night, Trump returned to the White House, though he has yet to recover from his own Covid 19 illness and could presumably infect other people. When asked by a CNBC host if the president wore a mask in office, Kudlow said he couldn’t go into detail: “It’s the job of the top level of government.”

Kudlow added: “As you have seen, the president wore a mask over and over again.” That also applies to everyone who visited him in the Oval Office.

“Go out and don’t let it dominate your life”

After arriving at the White House, Trump again downplayed the threat posed by the virus. “Get out there and don’t let it rule your life” was one of the central messages. The virus has killed more than 210,000 people in the United States so far, which is why many medical professionals consider the president’s remarks reckless.

Many of the high-ranking politicians were likely infected during the introduction of Amy Coney Barrett, who will become the new Supreme Court Justice. The event took place on September 26 in the Rose Garden of the White House.

A total of 150 guests were invited, which is against the rules of the Washington DC district, where public gatherings are currently limited to 50 people. Most of the visitors to the rose garden event did not wear mouth and nose protection, some hugged each other in greeting.
