Similar regulations will apply in schools after the Christmas break as on the second closure. Basically, by going back to distance education, younger students who need supervision can come to schools. For the upper grades there should be short presence phases, for example for school work. The return of all students is planned for January 18; a “free trial” is not a requirement to attend school, the Education Ministry said when requested by the APA.
Schools are once again open to all students up to the age of 14 who need care or learning support. You can complete work orders there or follow distance learning on existing devices. Teachers are responsible for supervision.
As in the past, students from the upper levels of AHS, BMHS, and vocational schools may also be taken to locations between January 7-15 for attendance phases, for example, to be prepared for school work and write them at school.
No further changes are planned for the Matura: it will continue to be held as last announced from May 20. In addition, the subject areas of the oral Matura (as of June 7) can be shortened, the presentation of the pre-scientific work or diploma thesis is only voluntary. As in the previous year, the annual grade is also included in Matura’s grade, but only if 30 percent of the points are achieved on the exam.
Like schools, kindergartens are open. However, compulsory kindergarten is lifted in the last year of kindergarten.
