With Digimon Survive, the next RPG for the hit anime should appear in 2019. After a postponement for 2020, there is now more bad news for Agumon and Co. fans.

As the current issue of Famitsu reports, the release of the JRPG tactic was postponed to 2021. Originally, the game should have been released in 2019. After a first postponement for 2020, the title expected by fans will only be released next year as soon.

No reason was given for the postponement, but given the current persistent situation, the coronoavirus is likely to have been instrumental in the decision. According to the study, employees are currently in the home office, which has already delayed the development of some other games.

Digimon Survive is the new version of the anime of the same name and takes a different path than its predecessors. The battles take place in the form of turn-based strategy battles, similar to the games in the Final Fantasy Tactics series. There are also big deviations from the predecessors when it comes to organizing the story – it’s more genre-oriented than visual novels and is mostly told in still images and text boxes rather than video footage.
