Wiener Linien security guards are said to have pushed a dark-skinned man who was apparently not ready to wear the required mouth and nose protection for several minutes at the Westbahnhof subway station. Wiener Linien CEO Alexandra Reinagl rejected the accusations of racism and saw the right approach.

Witnesses filmed the incident with mobile phones. Three security officers pinned the man to the ground. According to Reinagl, this was preceded by a long conversation. The man did not want to put on a nose and mouth protection or leave the station. A physical use would only occur if security guards were attacked and had to protect themselves or if a person had to protect themselves, the manager of Wiener Linien told “Wien Heute”. The station surveillance cameras and body security cameras now need to be evaluated and clarified.
