Talks with Austria and Slovakia are well advanced, but those in Poland are complicated, Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek said last weekend, according to the CTK news agency. “I would like to open the borders to Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia in July,” said Petricek. If the situation in the fight against the crown pandemic is developing well, the edge could also open earlier.
In mid-March, the Czech government imposed a ban on the departure of its own citizens as a measure of protection against the spread of the coronavirus, but lifted it again in late April. After their return from abroad, the Czechs now have to be tested for coronavirus. From the current perspective, border controls should continue until May 14.
