Vienna: In most of Austria there is a very high risk of infection with the coronavirus. As the meeting of the traffic light commission on Thursday showed, only some points on the traffic light map are not colored red. Vienna, Upper Austria and Salzburg are completely red. The commission also decided to set Austria as a whole and rating eight of the nine federal states in red. Only Carinthia is orange. There are no green districts anymore.

The map is colored according to district ratings. At the same time, the commission appealed for the “identification of contact persons 1 in the context of contact tracing with all efforts and resources pooled.” With this evidence-based measure, the spread is likely to be reduced. Develop the application of antigen tests in the sense of rational use and in particular implement them to protect the elderly and health centers and hospitals ”.

Only the Reutte district remains in Tyrol without a red light
The red light is now applied without restriction to the federal capital Vienna, where no distinction is made between individual districts, and to all districts of Salzburg and Upper Austria. In Tyrol, eight districts are lit red, only Ausserfern, the Reutte district, jumps to orange. In Styria, with one exception: the Murau district, which receives yellow, red also predominates. The same applies to Burgenland, where only the Güssing district does not turn red, but orange.
The Hollabrunn, Horn, Mistelbach and Scheibbs districts glow orange in Lower Austria, the rest must be turned red. In Carinthia, Spittal an der Drau turns yellow, the Villach-Stadt, Villach-Land, Klagenfurt-Land, St. Veit an der Glan and Feldkirchen districts turn orange. The rest received red. At first it was heard in commission circles that the city of Klagenfurt was orange, Klagenfurt Land and St. Veit, on the other hand, red. In Vorarlberg, the Montafon-Brandnertal region is red; Rheintal-Walgau already was before that, the Bregenzerwald / Kleinwalsertal Orange and Große Walsertal region, as well as Klostertal / Arlberg Yellow.
The Corona Commission’s evaluation was carried out taking into account the risk of transmission, the traceability of the transmission chains, the test activity and the use of resources of the hospitals, as it was called. Detailed criteria for evaluations are available HERE.
