Covid-19: Almost 500 new infections at noon – Coronavirus –

Since Wednesday noon there have been more than 4,000 active corona cases in Vorarlberg for the first time.

In Vorarlberg there are now more than 10,000 people who have had or have Corona. After 486 new infections by Wednesday noon, the total number of positives rose to 10,130 people.

The number of actively positive people increased by 447 people to 4,116. Among those who have recovered, 39 people have joined since 4 p.m. Tuesday (5,957 in total).

More people in the hospital

The number of Covid-19 patients who must be treated in Vorarlberg hospitals has also increased. There are currently 38 people (+8) in intensive care units. Of the total of 63 intensive care beds, 18 are still available.

There are currently 148 people (+1) in the normal rooms. 284 of the 432 normal beds are still available for the treatment of COVID19 patients.

Districts

Most of the cases are in the Bregenz district with 1,426, followed by the Dornbirn district with 1,143 cases. Behind them are the Feldkirch district with 1,000 infected people and the Bludenz district with 518 cases. So far 142,514 tests have been carried out in Vorarlberg.

At the community level, there are currently the most active corona cases in Dornbirn (576). They are followed by Lustenau (366), Bregenz (289) and Feldkirch (286).

Seven-day incidence

According to the Crown Board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg had the worst value of all Austrian federal states for the seven-day incidence on Wednesday per 100,000 inhabitants. With 773 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, Vorarlberg was ahead of Upper Austria (737) and Tyrol (680).

The Austrian average for the seven-day incidence was 496 on Wednesday.

The four districts of Vorarlberg show a seven-day incidence of more than 600 on Wednesday. Vorarlberg’s “hotspot” is still the Dornbirn district with an incidence of 920.
