How do you see the measures of the federal government?
I am pleased that the government has announced regulations for all of Austria and that countries are allowed to make additional regulations. Almost all the rules of the game had been abandoned in the summer, apart from travel. It was a mix in which it was clear that the numbers were increasing. However, I think the idea of defining absolute numbers of event visitors is still worth checking out. There is a difference between 1,000 spectators at the Prater Stadium or 1,000 spectators at the Vienna soccer field.
Shouldn’t one have acted before?
That is why we have increased the pressure. I said in August that I don’t understand the different rules of the trade. The virus does not care if it is transmitted in a shoe store or grocery store.
Casually asked: Who decides what happens in Vienna? You or the Minister of Health?
All at your own risk. We are linked with each other on the issue of fighting epidemics. The legislature came up with this, it’s not about how understanding we are with each other. We both have a duty to do what is best for our country and our city. That is why I am not sympathetic to the objections of the political parties. I agree with the minister on most points.
