There will be an education bonus of 180 euros for the unemployed. More money is also received from the federal government for special care time. The family aid fund is increased.
AUSTRIA. The Minister of Labor, Christine Aschbacher (ÖVP), and the Minister of Health, Rudolf Anschober (Greens), presented on Wednesday new measures to combat the crisis in Corona after the Council of Ministers. On the one hand, there should be an educational bonus for the unemployed who want to retrain. The education voucher is intended for those who complete training and retraining measures for at least four months at the Fundación Laboral Corona starting in October. In the future, in addition to unemployment benefit, you will receive an education bonus of 180 euros from the first month. According to Aschbacher, this corresponds to an average increase in unemployment benefits of 19 percent. About 100,000 people should be reached with the measure. Aschbacher named digitization, climate protection, or caring in areas that would make sense to retrain.
With the special care time, in the future it should be possible to take advantage of this for individual days or half days, Aschbacher explained. The federal government will fund half of this instead of a third as before. Aschbacher was delighted that the parental involvement was a third in the first phase.
The family aid fund is increased from 60 to 100 million euros. The reason for this is that the number of applications is much higher than assumed. Aschbacher explained that income losses must be cushioned for eligible families. In addition, the child bonus will be paid during these days. In addition to the family allowance, € 360 is transferred per child. With this mix of measures, you’ll be prepared for winter, Aschbacher emphasized.
Anschober does not expect to change to orange
The Minister of Health, Rudolf Anschober, spoke again of a difficult situation that we currently have in Europe again. In Austria, two federal states, Vienna and, to a lesser extent, Tyrol, are primarily affected. It is in close contact with both federal states. “For me personally, these numbers are too high at the moment,” Anschober emphasized. Despite the growing number of infections, the minister does not currently assume that the coronavirus traffic light will turn orange in Vienna or any other area at the end of the week: “I have no evidence that things are going in this direction currently, but the commission will decide. ” . “On Friday there will be recommendations to be implemented.
