At 56 percent, men are significantly more prepared to be vaccinated when it comes to planned coronavirus vaccines than women, of whom only one in three would be vaccinated. There is also a high approval rating among those 50 and older at 55 percent, a Gallup poll released Wednesday shows. According to this, 46 percent of the total Austrian population would be vaccinated. A GfK poll released the day before found that about 54 percent were willing to vaccinate.

Gallup now surveyed 1,000 people 16 and older online Nov. 5-10. Most opponents of vaccination are among those who believe a foreign power deliberately caused the spread of the virus (61 percent) and those who consider the danger posed by the coronavirus to be exaggerated (66 percent). On the other hand, the willingness to get vaccinated is high among those who say they are afraid of being infected with the virus (58 percent). However, a quarter of this group also stated that they did not want to be vaccinated.
