The reason for Monday’s federal-state video conference is the increasing number of infections in Austria. The current infection situation and other measures will be discussed between Chancellor Kurz, Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens), Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens), Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) and state governors. “The situation is deteriorating across Europe, and the number of federal states affected in Austria with the increase in new infections is also increasing,” Kurz recalled in a written statement.
“The videoconference with the representatives of the federal states is intended to allow us to discuss the next steps together and take appropriate action in the federal government and in the federal states,” Kurz said, putting the population in further adjustment.
