Even employees of nursing homes and hospitals who have tested positive for the corona virus can now work at their workplace, but only if there is no longer any risk of infection due to the CT value of more than 30. This stems from an ordinance that the Minister of Health, Rudolf Anschober (Greens), published on Tuesday morning.

Additionally, the ordinance, which also limits retail opening hours (see APA 128), makes clear that patient advocates are allowed in hospitals. The same is true in nursing homes for resident representatives and in all facilities of the commissions for the protection and promotion of human rights.

The procedure is not changed

The Ministry of Social Affairs highlights that the previous practice, which has been in use since May, has not changed. Now it is only clear in the regulation. It is emphasized that those persons who can return to service are no longer contagious given the established CT value.

The background to this is that higher standards are applied to nursing staff. For them, the quarantine ends no earlier than ten days after the onset of symptoms, but they would also have to show a negative PCR test. However, since the virus can often be detected for weeks, a CT value of 30 has just been agreed upon, above which someone is generally no longer considered contagious.
