Around 300 nasopharyngeal swabs are being tested every day for the virus in the biomedical laboratories of the Danube University.
The device, funded by the state government for 90,000 euros, replaces the manual preparation of samples. This is intended, on the one hand, to increase the reliability of the evaluation in the PCR test procedure and, on the other hand, to protect personnel from direct contact with infectious material. In the long term, the device will be used for research and diagnostic purposes.
