In the case of new corona cases, there was another record of 9,586 positive tests within 24 hours on Friday. However, after technical problems with the federal epidemiological notification system (EMS), late registrations were again among them.

The death toll has risen by 53 since Thursday to 1,661. More than 3,900 patients with Covid 19 had to be treated in hospital, including 567 in intensive care units. 76,839 people were actively infected.
Current data released by the Crown Commission on Friday shows that last week, the source of infection was unknown in 77 percent of SARS-CoV-2 cases in Austria and in only 23 percent of cases, it is say, less than a quarter – the contagion could clear up. According to the latest figures, the seven-day incidence averaged 527.9. This means that between 5 and 11 November, 527.9 people per 100,000 inhabitants tested positive throughout Austria. In absolute numbers, there were 46,993 new infections this week. For the previous seven days, the seven-day incidence was 378.0. There were 33,642 new infections between October 18 and November 3.
Several counties had incidents in seven days exceeding 1,000. Most of them were in Upper Austria, in Rohrbach the seven-day incidence was 1,474.9, in the Urfahr area it was 1,158.1, in Eferding 1,073 and in Freistadt 1,036.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. Tyrol and Salzburg each had a district with a seven-day incidence of more than 1,000. In Schwaz there were recently 1,226.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, in Tamsweg the figure was 1,012.3. By the way, Groe Walsertal in Vorarlberg recorded the lowest value. Here the seven-day incidence was 146.2.
Twelve percent of infections are asymptomatic.
According to the latest data analyzed from week 45 of November 2 to 8, twelve percent of the infections were asymptomatic. The use of intensive care units increased to 27.4 percent in Austria in the middle of this week. According to data from the traffic light commission, the situation was critical in Vorarlberg, where 74.5 percent of intensive care beds were already occupied and 46.5 percent in Upper Austria.
The Corona Commission’s risk assessment also showed a clear picture of the test numbers and positive results. According to the most recent figures (from the week to the middle of week 46), 2,273 tests were carried out per 100,000 inhabitants in Austria, of which 21.6% were positive. The previous week, the positive rate was 18.5 percent. In terms of proportion, the most positive cases were recently registered in Upper Austria; here the positive rate was 35.3 percent. In the seven days to November 11, for every 100,000 inhabitants, most of the PCR tests with 3,761 were carried out in Tyrol and the least with 1,179 in Salzburg.
