In the state of Salzburg, the number of deaths related to Covid-19 rose from two to 51 on Friday. According to the Landes-Medienzentrum, the two deceased are an 83-year-old man from Flachgau and an 86-year-old man from Tennengau. According to EMS, there are currently 2,733 people actively infected in the city and state of Salzburg, 6,453 people have been infected with the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic (at 8 am), representing an increase of 756 compared to Yesterday.
This sharp increase in the number of infections compared to Thursday 8 a.m. is a result of supplements now being processed at EMS and counting of positive lab results tailored to AGES, he said. Divided into districts, this results in the following figures:

5,627 new corona infections in Austria

With 5,627 new infections in 24 hours, a record has been reached in Austria. The 5,000 mark was surpassed for the first time, and that too, as the figures published this Friday by the Ministry of Health and the Interior show. This was more than 1,000 cases above the number of new cases registered on Thursday, and 4,453 already represents a record value. 756 new cases were added in the state of Salzburg.
So far 99,576 positive results have been obtained in Austria. As of today (9:30 am), 1,082 people in Austria have died in connection with the coronavirus and 64,987 are considered to have recovered. There are currently 1,803 people in hospital treatment for coronavirus, 263 of them in intensive care units.
