An average of 6,720 new infections per day
On average, 6,720 new infections were added every day during the past week; last Thursday, this value was 7,018. The seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants through Thursday was 528.5.
Since the start of the pandemic, 228,683 people in Austria have tested positive. 149,541 are considered recovered.
No clear decline in numbers yet
For Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens), this means the continuation of “stagnation at a dramatically high level”. The effects of the hard blockade, which has been in force since Tuesday, are not yet evident in the infection figures, but the effects of the partial blockade, which has been in effect since November 3, are. Most new infections in Austria
Most of the new infections were back in Upper Austria on Thursday. 1,706 new cases have been reported here in the last 24 hours. Vienna recorded 1,188 new infections, Lower Austria 985 and Tirol 913. Styria introduced 726 new cases to the EMS, Salzburg 495, Carinthia 482 and Vorarlberg 355. In Burgenland, 145 new infections have been added since Wednesday morning.
