Almost 65,000 recovered since the pandemic broke out

With 5,627 new infections in 24 hours, a record has been reached in Austria. The 5,000 mark was surpassed for the first time, and that too, as the figures published this Friday by the Ministry of Health and the Interior show. This was more than 1,000 cases above the number of new cases registered on Thursday, and 4,453 already represents a record value. 756 new cases were added in the state of Salzburg.
As of Friday, 99,576 cases had been registered in Austria, 1,082 (plus 25) of them died and 64,987 (plus 1,621) recovered. There are currently 33,507 active sick people in Austria who are registered with the authorities. On Thursday it was 29,527, which is an increase of 3,980. 1,803 people are in hospital treatment for coronavirus, 263 of them in intensive care units. The day before, this was 1,692 and 248 respectively.
So far, 2,203,993 people have been tested, in the last 24 hours 26,421 tests were performed, 21.3 percent of which were positive, resulting in a new record of 5,627 new infections. Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) appealed in a broadcast: “Please reduce your contacts with immediate effect! A third fewer contacts cut the risk of infection in half. And that’s exactly what we urgently need now. “

756 new infections in Salzburg

According to the state media center, Salzburg has 756 new corona infections. As of 8 a.m., 2,733 people are currently infected. Two other deaths were also reported.
The increase is due to additions to the epidemiological notification system (EMS) and a new way of counting positive laboratory results, transmission continues. Divided into districts, this results in the following figures:

- City of Salzburg 615 (+177)
- Tennengau 383 (+40)
- Pongau 532 (+83)
- Pinzgau 297 (+37)

15 patients with Covid-19 in intensive care
There are currently 91 Covid-19 patients in the hospital, another 15 are treated in the intensive care unit. 3,501 people are quarantined in their homes or have restricted traffic as contact persons.
Two more deaths related to Covid-19 were reported to authorities. They are a man (83) from the Flachgau district and a woman (86) from the Tennengau district.
