3,250 actively ill people (confirmed infections minus those who have recovered and deaths) were recorded on Friday in connection with the corona pandemic in Austria. That was 39 less than the day before. There were 357 new infections in 24 hours, 196 most of them in the 1.9 million of the city of Vienna, where tests are also carried out more frequently than in other federal states.
For Salzburg, the state reported 156 actively infected people on Friday morning. These are divided as follows:
- Pongau: 12
- Tennengau: 5
- Lungau: 0
- Salzburg City: 68
- Flachgau: 50
- Pinzgau: 21
156 corona patients in the hospital
The figures for hospitalizations and the need for intensive care remained stable. 156 patients with a proven SARS-CoV-2 infection were in a hospital, 28 of them in an intensive care unit. Over an average of four days, the patient’s Corona status was virtually unchanged.
So far, 28,729 Austrians have tested positive for the corona virus. 24,513 people are considered to have recovered. 735 people died as a result of the virus.
