Since the highest number of infections in St. Veit is mainly due to groupings in a nursing home and a psychosocial rehabilitation center (ZPSR), special rules will apply here. Hermagor’s ordinance expires on Sunday. In Carinthia, the earlier curfew is not a problem.
CARINTHIA. To date, there are only three green districts in Carinthia: Spittal, Feldkirchen and Wolfsberg. St. Veit was added today to the orange Hermagor and the Völkermarkt. The town and country of Klagenfurt, like the town and country of Villach, turned yellow. This circumstance was discussed at today’s meeting of the Corona coordinating committee.
What applies to St. Veit?
The corresponding ordinance for St. Veit will be issued tomorrow, which is currently being worked on. It should be applied for two weeks starting Monday (midnight). In principle, the same measures should be applied as from Monday at Völkermarkt (more on this here) – measures in and around kindergartens are excluded.
The following also applies to events in St. Veit: Without assigned and marked seating, events with more than ten people in closed rooms and with more than 40 people in the outdoor area are prohibited. Events with exclusively assigned and marked seats with more than 500 people in closed rooms and with more than 1,000 people outdoors are also prohibited.
If a sporting event is over, you have to leave the sports facility, the dining rooms should close with the final whistle.
Additional measures in St. Veit
Since the highest number of infections in St. Veit is mainly due to clusters in a nursing home and a psychosocial rehabilitation center (ZPSR), special rules will apply here:
- Visiting hours in nursing homes and nursing homes are limited from 10 am to 5 pm Visitors can no longer walk through the entire building, instead there must be separate visiting rooms. Mask requirements apply everywhere.
- ZPSR residents and households are prohibited from attending outside events.
- At ZPSR, those responsible must present their own Covid 19 prevention concept to the authority.
The school traffic light also turns yellow in St. Veit (normal operation with increased hygiene measures).
No earlier curfew
Nothing will change in the city and country of Klagenfurt, as the “yellow measures” are already in force throughout the country. A possible earlier curfew was also discussed today, but is currently not a problem in Carinthia (unless prescribed nationwide).
In Hermagor, the current ordinance expires on Sunday, October 18. Federal measures in Orange continue to apply, the state tightening will be history as of Monday.
As of Monday, October 19, the district administration (BH) at Völkermarkt can only be visited by phone by prior arrangement (party traffic). In general, you should only make an appointment in urgent cases.
St. Marein: two closed kindergartens
There is news about the Corona case in a special kindergarten in St. Marein (Lavanttal). The municipal kindergarten is located in the same building, an employee was the contact person. Now she has also tested positive. There were many contacts, so the special kindergartens and municipal kindergartens will probably be closed for the entire next week.
According to the state of Carinthia, all the children in the special kindergarten have already been screened. The results are still pending. In the second kindergarten, now all children and employees are also evaluated.
Coordination meeting topics
More information from today’s meeting:
- Starting Monday, 30 additional contact trackers will be on duty (more on this here)
- Discussions are underway with the armed forces on whether soldiers can also be used as contact trackers if border management-related tasks decrease. There are currently 247 soldiers deployed to the borders to support the health authorities and the police.
- Additional contact trackers can be obtained through free service contracts, especially on weekends.
- A contract was signed with a private analysis institute in the Upper Carinthia area. You can test up to 300 samples per day for the country, including weekends.
- The testing strategy for antigen testing came from the federal government. In Carinthia, experts are checking how, where and when antigen tests can be used and which products are valid.
- Clarified: Directed hunts are considered events.
- In the future, a class in elementary schools will also be closed if there is a corona case. It has not been the case before.
Red Cross expands stationary test stations
The Red Cross reports that currently around 600 smears are performed per day. In one week there were 1,200 smears in suspected cases, 1,360 as part of environmental examinations (for example, in nursing homes) and 1,450 in tourism among employees.
The stationary test route in Wolfsberg starts on Monday, also in Hermagor (but only partially, full operation from November). Stationary test stations will continue at Völkermarkt and Feldkirchen in the coming weeks.
