On Thursday 2,435 new cases of corona were registered in Austria. That is a new record. Once again.

Starting at 2 pm on Thursday, the Crown Traffic Light Commission of the Federal Government will also meet. And even today, according to data from AGES and GÖG (Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, the national research and planning institute for the healthcare system), the number of corona cases is used to decide which cities and areas should be changed to “red “.

Based on information from KURIER, experts recommend that the following cities and areas be set to “red”:

Burgenland: Neusiedl am See

Lower Austria: St. Pölten, Amstetten, Bruck / Leitha, Mödling and Tulln

Upper Austria: Gmunden, Grieskirchen, Ried, Rohrbach, Schärding and Vöcklabruck. Wels, who already lights red at the corona traffic light, should stay red.

Salzburg: Hallein is already red and it should stay red too. The surroundings of Salzburg, St. Johann / Pongau and Zell am See will be added to the new red circuits.

Steiermark: Leoben, Voitsberg

Tirol: Imst, Landeck, Schwaz. Innsbruck and Innsbruck Land are already red and should stay red

Vorarlberg: Rheintal / Walgau

Vienna: Vienna is currently set to “Orange”. It is not yet clear if this should be changed

The traffic lights commission will meet from 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. A decision on the AGES and GÖG proposals is not due until evening.
