Innsbruck – The Corona traffic light in Innsbruck is now officially set to yellow. For Mayor Georg Willi, however, the vision goes beyond the decision of the traffic light commission. The head of the green city wants to avoid “in any case a change to orange.” And even expect “a green phase” in a few weeks.
But this will require a bit of effort. Also yesterday there were 69 new infections in Tyrol. Innsbruck now has 164 active positive cases. “The sooner we start to implement the necessary measures, the better we can control the numbers,” Willi said yesterday. Willi left unanswered yesterday whether he was informed in advance and how exactly the city will address the issue. However, he said: “Starting school is challenging. But we want to focus even more on starting college. ” In other words, the city sees an increased risk of infection among partying students.
For two weeks, the traffic light will surely flash yellow. “We need to optimize the follow-up of the contacts and the tests must be evaluated more quickly”, says Willi, who makes an appeal to the population and also asks that the experts transmit these appeals. “For me it is important that the Advent and Christmas markets can be held. As long as we are in yellow, that is possible ”. The head of the green city would prefer a “green phase”.
As a precaution, the country published two public calls yesterday. Visitors to a soccer game were hit again, this time on Telfs. Consequently, people who will be in the standing area during the soccer game from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on 6 September should pay attention to their health. This also applies to customers of the “Schnittpunkt” hairdressing salon in Landeck who were there between 1 and 8 September.
“Public calls in the case of a positive Corona test result in any case serve to reach the authority as quickly and widely as possible, unknown contact persons who cannot be specifically named in the context of contact tracing, or to contact them through the occurrence of an Inform people about the disease in their vicinity ”, says Elmar Rizzoli of the country’s working group.
