The Crown Commission re-evaluated the epidemiological development of the last days on Thursday evening and found an increased risk of infection in some regions of Austria. Also in Salzburg, Carinthia and especially in Burgenland there are now yellow areas (“medium risk”) at the crown traffic light. The pure green color is no longer a federal state.
Specifically, in Burgenland Eisenstadt Stadt, Rust Stadt and Eisenstadt Umgebung, in Carinthia the district Villach Stadt, in Tyrol the district Imst and Salzburg Stadt were rated as yellow. In Lower Austria, the Zwettl district went from yellow to orange (“high risk”). All other districts were unchanged in their assessment, the commission announced in the evening.
The final traffic light circuit will be published tomorrow, Friday. The start of the traffic light in corona has generated confusion about the consequences and measures to be taken after the traffic light change, but also about the specific criteria according to which the situation is evaluated. The Corona Commission assessment, it has now been explained, was carried out taking into account the risk of transmission, the traceability of the transmission chains, the testing activity and the use of resources of the hospitals.
