LH Markus Wallner and Regional Councilor Martina Rüscher on current developments regarding the corona pandemic in Vorarlberg.

Today, the state discussed the situation in Vorarlberg with the state leadership group and the state government and communicated the measures associated with the new classifications.

Recommended actions

These are urgent recommendations and not legal requirements. The state government calls on the population to adhere to these recommendations.

Among other things, in addition to the measures already established, the following is recommended:

  • Facial mask in contact with risk groups.
  • Visitors’ contact details should be collected at events.
  • Increasingly Outdoor Child Care
  • Collection of contact data of social institutions
  • Lists of attendance to the tests of the cultural sector
  • Constant training groups in sport (no mix)
  • Face masks in all public areas in closed rooms (also in restaurants away from the seat)
  • Mask also outdoors if you can’t keep your distance
  • For events without assigned seating, only 25 guests indoors and 50 outdoors or 200/500 with assigned seating
  • no catering at events
  • Ban on visits to hospitals (applies to all hospitals as of Wednesday)
  • School operation with greater protection measures.
  • Culture: attendance lists for rehearsals. Choir, theater and brass music rehearsals only in small groups
  • Sport: No training or no sport with physical contact
  • Even fair events with only 250 visitors

schools

According to regional councilor Martina Rüscher, there is already a federal ordinance for kindergartens and schools that will be updated in the afternoon.

Differentiation in districts

The federal state of Vorarlberg, which changed from solid green to yellow, partly to orange on Monday, is differentiated within districts.

As the Health Minister Martina Rüscher (ÖVP) announced by mail, there are also exceptions. It is easy in Dornbirn and Feldkirch, where orange and yellow are generally used, and more complex in Bregenz and Bludenz.

Green regions

The region around the state capital will turn yellow, but not the Bregenzerwald valleys with the Tannberg region (Warth and Lech) and the Kleinwalsertal, these will remain green. Bludenz won’t be orange everywhere, either. Because Klostertal, Brandnertal, Montafon and Großes Walsertal receive yellow status.

Rüscher considers the general assessment of the federal commission correct. The Vorarlberg data, however, allow a more precise delineation within districts. Currently, the country is fighting a higher number of infections, especially in metropolitan areas. That is why the traffic lights will be changed especially here. In rural areas the situation is different from that of densely populated areas.
