Almost unbelievable scenes took place in the middle of Corona’s confinement on Thursday afternoon at a pizzeria in Freistadt. 18 young people up to 18 years old, even 13 years old, had a splendid party in the bar.
At around 5:30 pm, the phones at the Freistadt police station rang: passersby informed officials that there was a lot of activity in the bar. Police were guarding the inn, which was not easy in view of the thick clouds of smoke. Because many guests smoked shisha.
“They did not maintain the minimum legal distance, nor did they wear face-to-face masks,” says the report from the Upper Austrian police department. The police, acting on behalf of the health authorities in these matters, presented numerous complaints to the Freistadt district administration: against the young people and the operator of the pizzeria.
“It is now an ongoing investigation and now we have to wait for the specific reports,” Freistdter district chief Andrea Auerweger says in the ON conversation. “I was very angry when I found out about the incident. It is clear that there must be consequences, that behavior is intolerable ”, says the lawyer. For the host, their behavior could be expensive.
Fine of up to 30,000 euros
Because the Covid Action Law provides for a fine of up to 30,000 euros. Illegal guests can be fined up to € 3,600.
