After the number of active positive cases fell just below 4,000 on Tuesday afternoon, statistics showed 4,001 cases at the end of the day. However, the trend remains downward.
On Tuesday, a total of 218 new infections were recorded in Vorarlberg at midnight, compared with 307 recoveries.
The number of actively positive Covid-19 infected people dropped from 4,091 to 4,001 cases. The intensive occupancy rate in hospitals remained tense but stable. There was one death to report on Tuesday, bringing the total to 76.
16 intensive care beds still available
192 corona patients were in hospital treatment in the country’s hospitals, 39 of them, four more than the day before, were in the intensive care unit. Of the 71 intensive care beds available nationwide, 16 were still free (plus three).
219 hospital employees quarantined
The situation around the hospital staff has worsened again. 119 (plus 14) were infected with the corona virus, 100 (plus one) other employees were quarantined as contact persons.
Community figures
On Tuesday there were eleven municipalities in which the number of cases exceeded (by far) 100, with the city of Dornbirn (483) ahead of Bregenz (295), Feldkirch (290) and Lustenau (282) leading the way. Only four of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.
District numbers
Bregenz still has the highest number of cases in the districts (1,373). They are followed by Feldkirch (1064), Dornbirn (1003) and Bludenz (529).
7-day incidence drops
According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg continued to have the worst value of all Austrian federal states with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants. With 748.1 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, the state was ahead of Upper Austria (687.9) and Carinthia (679.3).
The Austrian average was 522.9.
The four districts of Vorarlberg currently have an incidence of more than 630 days in 7 days. Dornbirn district continues to be the worst hit.
